An in-depth look at our policies that protect victims of Clinical Negligence – and their solicitors
Between the years 2022 and 2023, clinical negligence and malpractice payments made by the NHS in England increased by a staggering 9.5%, rising to £2.7 billion. With cases on the rise, it is now even more important to raise awareness of the protections available to both victims, and their appointed legal teams.
At Prosperity Insurance, we have a range of ATE Insurance products that we offer to firms and their clients. With the added peace of mind that these policies provide, your clients can enter contentious proceedings knowing they are financially covered if unsuccessful. Whether your client has received incorrect treatment, misdiagnosis, a prescribing error, or a surgical mistake – the protection of an insurance policy is something that should be considered.
Our ATE Insurance Policies with fully delegated authority are ideally-suited to a range of medical negligence and malpractice cases. These policies will cover a variety of legal costs, disbursement, and adverse costs if they should be unsuccessful. These policies are available quickly and conveniently to those registered with our portal.
We can also provide more bespoke policies for larger, complicated cases. In the circumstances we would be guided by our aforementioned legal team to ensure the right policy is provided for you and your client.
Across all our policies, we cover the initial investigative stages of the process, covering fees for the gathering of evidence, in relation to the breach and causation of the case. If the case progresses, we can then also provide cover for the remainder of the work, giving your client the freedom to access justice in the most meaningful way possible.
What’s different about our Clinical Negligence policies?
Prosperity Insurance is part of a wider business group with Prosperity Law LLP, a firm with an industry leading medical negligence legal team, who have informed our range of insurance products and support our continuing offer.
Besides that, we’ve been praised by law firms large and small for the following reasons, which set us apart from our competitors.
Minimum volume commitment: We are one of the few insurance companies that will provide insurance policies to firms with no minimum volume commitment. Meaning you can access the exact cover you need for your clients, without any fear of giving us a minimum number of policies per month, or per year.
Fully delegated authority scheme: Our fully delegated authority schemes mean that whilst we’re your trusted partner, we take a hands-off approach. We trust you to do your job, safe in the knowledge that we’re here to help if you need us.
Minimal reporting requirements: You have enough to do, working hard to deliver results for your clinical negligence clients. That’s why we have less reporting requirements than many of our competitors, minimising the bureaucratic burden so that you have more time to do what you do best.
Competitive premiums: Our premiums are regularly found to be some of the most competitive on the market. Competitive – but high-quality and comprehensive. Our in-house experts in this field will be attending this year’s AvMA Clinical Negligence Conference in Leeds on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd March. If you’d like to find out more about our relevant ATE Insurance Policies – pay us a visit at Stand 25. We’ll have goodies to giveaway, and prize draws where you can win one of two pairs of Bose Earbuds. See you there!
