ATE
insurance
An after the event ATE insurance policy covers the clients (claimants) if they have to pay their opponent’s legal costs and their own disbursements that are incurred as a result of bringing a legal action against another person or business. The ATE premium is fully deferred and only paid at the end of the legal proceedings if the case is successful.
In the event that a case is lost, ATE insurance will pay the opponents (defendants) legal costs that have been incurred in defending the claim and the disbursements that the claimant’s lawyer has incurred to progress their matter.
ATE
Insurance
ATE Insurance is an insurance policy that protects and covers a client who wants to pursue a claim against the risk of having to pay their opponents legal costs and disbursements if the case is unsuccessful.
Conveyancing Indemnities
As an experienced provider of assisting lawyers and their clients regarding ATE insurance, we are well aware that the profession also has a need for other client-facing legal indemnities. One of the most frequent requests we get from solicitors is for legal indemnities for conveyancing transactions.
